SF Graphic Design, Medical Brochure
MEDICAL BROCHURE
How to make medical and scientific communications more engaging? Appropriate design can add meaning beyond the written word. The link below takes you to an example brochure I wrote (in German) and designed on the topic of PNH - an acquired blood disorder that is frequently misdiagnosed. I added a short animation clip at the end as a bonus.

SPOTLIGHT ON IMMUNOTHERAPY
I made this infographic to promote my article on cancer immunotherapy strategies. Immunotherapy is revolutionizing cancer treatment and is the most promising bet we have at a long sought for cancer cure. By awakening and priming the immune system to fight cancer, such strategies have achieved impressive clinical successes.
SF Motion Graphics, Design & Science
DESIGN AND SCIENCE
Design is a prerequisite, not a cosmetic extension. Just as well-designed objects are intuitive to use, carefully conceived scientific figures, slides and posters can be easy to interpret and comprehend. Visualization in science communication fosters new modes of thought and cross-pollination of scientific ideas and information. Effective visual communication offers important benefits: it enables comprehension of complex information, stimulates cognition by provoking visual thinking, it facilitates communication of new findings and prompts further discourse, and lastly, it improves the memorability of the conveyed information.
Beyond static figures and illustrations, authors can greatly benefit from motion graphics when depicting complex molecular processes, or communicating dynamic or temporal information, such as a cascade of events or the motion and interaction of entities within a system. By distilling intricate concepts into a clear, accessible story, motion graphics further communication across disciplines and encourage scientists to understand and develop interest in unrelated or unfamiliar topics, driving creativity and collaboration.
